Re: IraqiLinux Team

Hi Mahdi,

Yes, I have joined IraqiLinux because every cruncher must have a cohort. So now I am your cohort. Oh, do not listen to Johnny Cool, I am a mischevious monkey not a great cruncher.

Another reason I have joined with you is because soon I will change all my computers to Linux instead of Windows. For my sig I have made a nice banner promoting IraqiLinux and Fedora but I see it doesn't work yet. If you like it when you see it then you can use it too.

Which Linux do you use?

Will, I am a bit of mischievous myself too biggrin

Will I am using Suse 9.1 myself, its really time to upgrade but have been very busy lately. I have tried FC2 back in the days and I did like it. But I really like more stable distro’s like suse in terms of releases. Please don’t hesitate to post on our forum if you have any Linux related question, we are happy to help where we can. Thank you again for joining the team and good luck with the migration :)

Re: IraqiLinux Team

Excellent! We are mischevious cruncher monkey monkey And our friend JC? Well, I know he loves pie, yummy Points Pie. In fact he eats so much I call him a Points Pie pig as well as a great cruncher and team captain. One day I will be a Points Pie pig too! Oink Oink! biggrin

Thank you for your offer to help me with Linux, Mahdi. Actually, I have a friend close by who I can call on the phone for Linux help. Email and forums are nice but the telephone is even better. I will visit the IraqiLinux forum soon, however, because soon I will ask for the help of Arabic speakers to translate some web pages about WCG into Arabic. Maybe I will use Babelfish to translate and ask Arabic speakers to check and correct the Babelfish translations to reduce the work.

Today I crunch with Linux, no more Windows on this computer. In a few weeks my other fast computer will be finished its Climate Prediction work unit. Then I will convert it to Linux and it will crunch WUs for IraqiLinux too.

Take care Mahdi, we all work and pray for the day when you can return safely to your home, family and friends.
