Fatal Error on Startup: "Segmentation Violation: Stack Trace (6 frames)"

Hi, the client was working correctly and then it started throwing the output shown below. I've tried reinstalling and I've tried rebooting. I'm using SuSE 9.3.

Thanks in advance!

Hello quantamm,
Here is the Wiki article about: Computer_ID: not assigned yet
http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?tit...:_%27%28venue-prefs%29%27

I do not know what is wrong.

Re: Fatal Error on Startup: "Segmentation Violation: Stack Trace (6 frames)"

Interesting page, but it doesn't explain how to fix it (or if it is even a problem). The other thing I've noticed is that between the "remote control" line and the "sigsegv" line, there are several seconds of no output and alot of HDD activity is audible.

Since I've tried reinstalling and that didn't help, I have a feeling that the problem may be with the WCG servers. Is there any possibility that this is the case? Is there any way to "reset" my account?

I have a vague feeling one of my team members had a similar (possibly identical) problem. I'm fairly sure we got it sorted. I'll have to dig up the details.

Hmmm. Not quite the same. Not remotely the same, actually. Sorry.
