Problem changing project preferences

I run BOINC and am trying to change my project specific preferences. Reading the forums seems to indicate I should go to this page http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/viewProfiles.do for that. However when I try that link or using the web buttons under my grid I get an error.

Error

Anyone have any ideas?

Hello Keck_Komputers,
4 times a day you can get messages like this:
The page you requested is currently unavailable because the statistics are being updated.

The statistics update will finish in about 18:04 minutes.

Is this the problem you noticed?

Re: Problem changing project preferences

Why does the stats update affect everything? I seem to remember someone saying you can't even log in during the updates.

Now, obviously locking everything is the easy, safe option. But the stats are just a reporting function, and should run on live data without major fireworks. Is this something that will be fixed in the forthcoming stats reworking?

We are also importing any changes to user and device data (not just the stats) at that time as well. Since most of the other pages access either the user or device tables and we do db2 imports on those tables, then allowing the additional access could create a read lock and depending on the situation it can cause the import to fail or it could significantly slow down the import process. As a result it is best to give the stats scripts full access to the tables.

Keck,

You have our apologies. You have most recently updated your BOINC device profile at another project. At that project you set the field 'Do work only after computer is idle for' in your preferences to 1.5 minutes. We are mistakenly parsing that field as an integer - thus the error you are receiving. We will correct this although it may be the end of the week before we can do so. A work around in the meantime will be for you to visit one of the other projects you participate in - update this field at that project to an integer value and save your preferences. Then from a client attached to both projects, force an update to the project where you modified the value. Finally, force an update to World Community Grid and you should be able to access these pages.

We apologize for the error and will get this fixed.

thanks,
Kevin

Re: Problem changing project preferences

Changing the idle minutes to 2 and updateing allowed me in. Thanks Kevin. The ironic thing is I only set that preference for a test in the first place and almost immediately changed it back to run always.

I have adjusted the share of this project to put it in line with my other test projects and resumed it on my hosts.

I see. Well, if you are successful in reducing the time it takes for the stats run to complete, then it doesn't matter either way, does it? :-D
