sad Retired member still shows in team

I have a 'retired member' don't know why, but there you go, things happen.

However, altough his Team points are 'frozen' from the time he left ... we still see him on the team ... AND scoring points, though not for us.

Sherly this is a mistake ? confused

Re: Retired member still shows in team

All points earned by someone while on a team remain with that team forever. If someone retires from a team (either quits the team and goes on alone or changes to another team), the points that they earned will remain with the team they retired from. After that point, any points they earn will either go to no team or to whichever new team they joined.

Re: Retired member still shows in team

Yes I know ... but why do we still see his points being earned?

Bit annoying, he's not a team member ... we still see him, and earning points for whomever.

Does that also mean he has to login to our team to view his points?

confused

Re: Retired member still shows in team

You aren't seeing his points increase when you view your team page and then go to "Team Member Details and Statistics" selecting "Points Generated" on a retired member. He is still a member of the World Community Grid and is still generating points for him or her self. The points he or she is now generating will accrue either to no team or to the new team he or she has joined.

I just looked at your team statistics. Since only one member has retired, it was easy to see that he had first joined the WCG the day before signing up with your team, so, at most, he probably generated no more than about 400 points before joining your team. Then, while a member of your team, he was able to generate 5798 points for you. That figure will never change unless he rejoins your team. He left your team on January 4 and, as a WCG member, he now has a total of 10,321 points. Figuring the 400 or so earlier plus the 5798 points while on your team, he has earned about 4100 points since leaving the team.

Just because he has left your team doesn't mean he as a member can no longer generate points for himself. Take a look at the list of your members. Any of them that joined the World Community Grid days or weeks before joining your team have individual point totals that are higher than you will see in the "Team Member Details and Statistics" selecting "Points Generated" list for your team. Points earned by a WCG member outside of the team stay with the individual, but not with your team.

Re: Retired member still shows in team

Mr Bell, I thank you for your answer, but the question is ... why?

Why? do we still "see" him on our team, sherly he should "drop off" into 'no-team' or any 'new team' he may have joined, or even just frozen in time on our stats?

Would any of the "staff" here like to comment confused

Sorry, I just don't get it ... sad

For the stats to be complete, they have to show the source of all your points. This includes retired members. In YOUR stats his total is frozen. When you click on the name, you are looking at HIS stats, not yours.

It's all fairly simple, I don't understand your problem.

I have no problem ... well medically yes, mentally I have just been released.

Re: Retired member still shows in team

OK,.. let me take a stab at it...

So, Mr. X was on your team. He generated points for your team. Now he's left your team. Right?

When you look at the points/stats for YOUR team, it accounts for every point in you teams total. This includes every point Mr. X made while with your team. Because he's now gone, you'll notice that on YOUR TEAMS stats page his number will not grow. He is no longer generating more points for your team. But when he leaves, he doesn't take all those points with him (this would subtract from your total and drop you in the rankings). So the points he's generated while with your team will forever be listed there. That way, every point in your team's total is accounted for... no guessing.

If you click on his name, as mentioned before, it'll take you to HIS page, which includes new points he's generating on his own, or with his new team. Which I highly doubt you'll ever care about.

Did that help at all? Or do I/we just look even dumber yet now??!!?!?!
