Totally agree with jeffwy and dataman!
----------------------------------------We don't want money, glory etc for taking part in this project but if there are problems or questions (and there are a lot browsing through the forum...) the admins / moderators at least should answer these questions. I understand, that there is a lot of work to do in the beginning of such a project and that there are a lot small bugs but even then it should be possible to post a short note saying "we're working on it - hold on.." But the only thing I can find in the forums is that users are posting one and the same problem over and over again with well-meant answers from other USERS, no answer from an admin or moderator!!! So if there won't be a better organization of the forums and better support for users I'll surely quit too the next days! ![]() |

Most forums have moderators, why WCG does not is beyond me. They need little training and don't even need to be in your office or country, they are just hear to provide answers and assistance and to keep threads and forums looking good. This obviously hasn't happend. There are soo many duplicate threads that people can't find what they want, just look at the member support forum, there are 5 or 6 threads on exactely the same topic or problem. Members are still new and they are giving advice and some of it may work and some of it may not, the point is no one is really guiding us. The FAQ is out of date and your membership is growing, which means there will be more frustration and WCG will lose more and more crediability as the days go on as well as their wonderful FREE PR they got from CNN. FREE PR is a god send and thus you should have been prepared before they published the article.

Just remember to put your money where your mouth is. When you consider IBM as a solution to your company's IT problems, remind your team of the lousy support IBM has for it's sponsored programs. When their sales team presents their products, ask if the same support for that product works on WCG. This complaining will amount to nothing if you don't get SALES to beat up on SUPPORT.
You might also feedback your dissatisfaction with sources which report on the project. Zip off an email to your syndicated internet columnist and complain that their story on WCG is poor and short-sighted without reporting on the lack of any quantifiable support for the project. WCG is a wonderful thing, but this ignorance is exceedingly irresponsible. Even the briefest messages saying, "hey, we hear you" would work. Sorry, IBM, you're an RCH away from convincing me you haven't changed at all from the 70's. Bad manager, no pastry. |
