the comparison device is a pentium 4 1.5GHz, my device is a pentium 4 2.7 GHz.... my rating for this is a 9. it should be over the 100 given for the comparison device, right? how can I fix this?

The processor score is remeasured at the end of each work unit. So wait and see what it says for the next work unit. If it is still too low, start looking for a process running in the foreground that is stealing CPU cycles. Use Task Manager to start with.

thank you. it did update, but any idea why that happened? I don't want it to happen again, cuz it seriously affected my overall device score... and I usually have most extranneous processes stopped, so I don't think anything should have been taking up that much proc. time..

The processor score is recalculated on each work unit so the processor score will vary depending on a whole host of factors including what else is running at the time the benchmark runs. Please See here for an explanation.
