I am glad to join WGC. I have registered all my BOINC projects with BOINCstats. However, I noticed some differences in rankings.
WGC MyGrid: Current Ranking: 99,839, Total Users: 144,317 BOINCstats: Current Ranking: 2,303, Total Users: 4,345 any clarification? I am sorry if this was addressed elsewhere. |

BOINCstats is ranking those who have registered with it. The WCG is ranking all of its members. You are registered with both. Many people are not.

BOINCstats is ranking those who have registered with it. The WCG is ranking all of its members. You are registered with both. Many people are not. I looked more on BOINCstats and BOINCsynergy. They say that they get stats from XML produced by the projects. I searched your forum and found a thread on XML. They link to "http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/boinc/stats/" Looking in these (they are timestamped current with current date/time), I see "<nusers_total>4376</nusers_total>". The applications is listed as "Human Proteome Folding". My guess is that BOINC is producing xml for only one WCG project not both. The new fightaids@home project is getting all the new users. Therefore, those users do not show in the totals. Does that make sense? |

The stats that are shown here http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/boinc/stats/ are only what the BOINC software is creating. Since World Community Grid uses both UD software and BOINC the stats shown on our website under "Statistics" or "My Grid" are a combination between the two. So, where you see this "<nusers_total>4376</nusers_total>" it means that there are 4376 users that have actively returned a result using the BOINC software. That is where the differences happen. Hope this helps.
