Re: project's applications

bartsob5,

At this moment World Community Grid is only running the Human Proteome Folding project on BOINC. We plan to make FightAIDS@Home available on the BOINC platform by the end of the month.

BOINC does not currently have the ability to allow users to choose which project they run. Thus once we launch FightAIDS@Home on BOINC you will randomly recieve work from either FightAIDS@Home or HPF.

The UD agent will continue to allow you to select what project you recieve work from.

thanks,
Kevin

Why not create 2 different servers with different URL ( one HPF and one FAAH)????

Re: project's applications

That was considered but it would essentially require a duplicate set of infrastructure to support it - most critically it would require a second instance of the database. The time spent maintaining the system vs. accomplishing new tasks (boarding new projects, adding features, etc) would go in the wrong direction. Espicially when you consider that we intend to have multiple projects running at once.

We are looking at the options now. This is an issue that is very important to us and the members so we hope to find a solution that will give you this feature.
