Hi, I am new and the question may have been asked, but here I go. I noticed that when I have the WCG Agent running and Zone Labs Integrity Client running (an IBM standard), my virtual memory runs very high. I have to increase my VM to 2GB and still from time to time, I would exceed that limit. In such situation, the Zone Labs Integrity Client shut down. I confirm that Zone Labs Integrity Client is using up VM as I started my Task Manager I noticed if I shut down Integrity Client, I will gain back some thing like 300 to 400 MB of PF usage. My setting for the WCG Agent is at 70 MB.
Please advise thx... |

Hello lcheung,
We have had 2 (maybe 3) earlier reports of massive VM increases. We do not understand why this happens because rerunning those specific work units on our machines does not reproduce this behavior. Thanks for giving us some information about the software environment in which this happens. Maybe somebody on the staff will ask for more details after New Year's day. mycrofth |

High is a relative term. How much virtual memory is the task actually taking up.
----------------------------------------With Fight AIDS @ Home, a workunit typically takes up ~300MB VM and 75-100MB of physical RAM. The VM amount should be very stable at around 300MB and should not very by much at all. If you find yourself running out of virtual memory, you need to increase it via the System control panel applet. If you are seeing usage higher than this, please let us know and report what you see. It would also be helpful to take a screenshot of the Task Manager "Processes" tab showing the task, "Mem Usage" and "VM Size" columns". Finally, if you could report your device ID and the time you noticed the problem (remember to specify your timezone), it will help us identify the workunit so we can investigate further.
