Being a Windows user up until recently, I've been using Ubuntu for a while and so I downloaded and installed BOINC, and attached it to my profile without incident.
Thing is, is there any way to queue more than one unit for processing at a time? At the moment it's doing the default thing of uploading one and downloading another. |

Hi
----------------------------------------(the following based on windows boinc) In the profile for boinc you can tell it how often to connect to server by default. I think it is preset at 0.1 days............if you switch that to, say, 3 days, it will then send you a supply of work units. I think you can set it to a maximum of 10 days.......which is handy for non-permanent connections........gives you loads of work to do. Ahhhhh, I see now....I was looking for the setting within the BOINC client and not on my Device profile pages. Whoops :)
Thanks Vaio, I can now get more than one unit at a time! Woo and yay! :D |

Just a word of caution.
The time to compute work units can vary by up to a factor of 10. It is probably a good idea to be cautious about asking for more than 2 days of work units. |

Thanks for the cautionary words, I tried 10 days and then noticed the huge stream of incoming units
![]() Not to worry as my machine will chop through them in time, I think however I'll back it off to something like 5 days in the future though. ![]() |

Think how long it will be before any of them get any credit. A 10 day queue is far too long ![]() |
