I have a AMD 233 w/ 190Mb Ram and a celeron 500 w/ 224 Mb ram running WCG since last May. No issue. I'm using the UD agent .

Please consider that if used for thing else, you are likely to burn some $50 a month for electricity. If you waited for 6 months, you could instead buy a brand new $300 machine that would be 10 times faster. So, at neutral costs you would do .. hm ... (10 times faster but only half the time) 5 times as many results.

To have otherwise unused machines crunching is IMHO a waste of resources. I suggest you donate your machine to a nearby school or so, instead.

I think your numbers are inflated, but the general principle is sound.
