Project participating

I am new to this. I am currently running the Human Protenome Folding project. I am signed up to run both the FightAids@home and this one (the box is checked to run all projects) but I do not see the FightAids project on the Program running the Human project...How do I run FightAids @home? Do I have to download a totally different application? Any advice?

Re: Project participating

Hi

Assuming your rig meets the ram requirements (256mb I think) then your rig will download FA@H work at it's leisure, with no further intervention from you.

Other than ensuring you meet the system requirements and having the project checked there is nothing further you need to do.

If you want to check things quickly just uncheck Proteome and see if you get a FA@H unit.

Re: Project participating

I am new to this program. I currently run 4 other projects using BOINC. Will this program, like BOINC, switch between projects after a certain time? Or because I am a new user do I have to wait at least 24 hours before I will see any change for example like my points going up or active times etc.

Re: Project participating

Ah, you running this under Boinc?
I think there has been a minor delay in getting the aids project under boinc.

Re stats.....I only crunched a few Rosettas under boinc and it took like 3 days for any stats to appear in the boinc interface.

With regards project switching I'm not sure....I just manually switch between projects myself.

*sorry the reply took so long........my internet connection/firefox keeps dying crying

Re: Project participating

Hello Jason Safoutin,
We hit the crunch point trying to implement both BOINC and FightAIDS@Home. So here is what we did. We boarded the new AutoDock 4.0 program for FightAIDS@Home on our established UD Windows platform and started BOINC with our familiar Rosetta program still running the Human Proteome Folding project. (It will probably last another 2 months.) We tried to board FAAH for BOINC for December, but a number of issues have been cropping up. (AutoDock 4.0 is really new.) Our current plan is to upgrade AutoDock 4.0 on UD Windows in January, then when that is verified release the BOINC version. (Still in January, praying ) Then we can do some more implementation of the BOINC system. We have implemented enough to work, but we are using our own database software, so we cannot just clone off a site.

Busy, busy . . . .

Merry Christmas!

Added: vaio, your ZoneAlarm headsup was correct. I now have an always-on internet connection again with Firefox 1.5. If you are still having problems, post them on 'Stupid Internet' in Hardware on the DC Zone.
