Dave --

I've heard two possibilities (both are similar in nature):
1. Churches opened the poor boxes on St. Stephan's Day to distribute the alms to the poor.
2. In Medieval days, the wealthy would place foods and other goods into boxes to distribute to the poor.

No -- it doesn't refer to getting rid of all the boxes and trash left over from opening Christmas presents. Nor does it have anything to do with pugilism.

I think it demonstrates that we have around 380 systems running 24/7 as a consistant base on the team. Our scores that come in higher show the addition of PC's at work which may get shut down for weekends and holidays.

Both sound like great idea's Dave.

You see you learn something new every day on the MOT Thread and your vocabulary gets extended. First it was Horology from Graham and now if you feel like bopping someone you can exercise the fine art of pugilism

I thought it might be a non-conformist protestant movement until I checked with Google biggrin

Hi Graham

Deb was going to get me a bottle of Glenmorangie for Christmas but I decided I didn't want to poison myself this Christmas wink which makes a nice change

I hope is smooth and you are enjoying it at the moment biggrin

We'll be expecting you to post bright and breezy in the morning laughing

Go on it's Christmas

Right better look sharp we're having Deb's Mum and Dad over tomorrow

Turkey and all the trimmings. Christmas Day has passed off as pretty much a non event here at MOT HQ. We're delaying the festivities until boxing day

Night all
