This is gonna be really stupid, but:
I've been a member since 04, and just recently built a new machine which I've loaded the new seti@home using BOINC. I want to join this BOINC driven box to WCG, but I need the URL and can't seem to locate the correct one. Am I missing the obvious? Help.....Thanks, Matt |

Sparks,
It looks like you are not registered with BOINC. Please visit this page: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/viewDownload.do And you will be properly registered and receive your account key when you click on the "already downloaded BOINC" link. Let us know on success or failure. -Uplinger |

Yep, that's it. Looks like I've got to re-register with WCG at which point I'll get a new account key for WCG and I think, that will do it.
Thanks so much, Sparks |

Hello fj,
Here is the BOINC download site: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php Download and store BOINC Linux from us. Download and store BOINC Windows from BOINC. Find your BOINC keys on 'My Grid' - 'My Profile'. Run the Boinc Windows installation package, using your keys. All set and ready to crunch! mycrofth |

mycroft - Thanks.
I had done exactly the steps you mention the day before yesterday on one of my systems. After running for several hours, on the BOINC messages screen, i got "Unrecoverable erro for result ebxxx_xx_x (The environment is incorrect. (0xa - exit code 10 (0xa))" each time a work unit finished. There were 4 of these error messages. I uninstalled BOINC on this pc. After your posting, I tried again, just to make sure - but this time on another pc. So far, it's finished a work unit without any error message. I've reinstalled BOINC on the first pc and immediately got the same error message - the work unit was eb762_54_2. Could that be for a work unit from the previous install [I'm thinking that BOINC settings weren't removed even though BOINC was uninstalled]. |

Now what's going on?
After another reboot, BOINC started then stopped work on one work unit. Ran a second one for a while, then paused the second second and started working on the first again. Here's the messages. 12/18/2005 9:31:57 PM|World Community Grid|Resuming computation for result eb762_50_1 using rosetta version 422 12/18/2005 9:31:57 PM|World Community Grid|Pausing result eb762_50_1 (removed from memory) 12/18/2005 9:31:58 PM|World Community Grid|Starting result eb741_00_5 using rosetta version 422 12/18/2005 10:31:58 PM|World Community Grid|Resuming result eb762_50_1 using rosetta version 422 12/18/2005 10:31:58 PM|World Community Grid|Pausing result eb741_00_5 (removed from memory) 12/18/2005 10:31:59 PM||request_reschedule_cpus: process exited Thanks |

Hello fj,
You probably know more about this than I do, so I am just fumbling here. Have you run Update to sync with the schedulers and make sure that they know which system is what? ( http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=5169#41559 ) |

I've reinstalled BOINC on the first pc and immediately got the same error message - the work unit was eb762_54_2. Turns out the error was caused by overclocking. The pc has been running more than a month with no problems - including several hours of Prime95. The error in BOINC went away as soon as all overclocking was removed. |
