Re: FightCancer@Home Project?

I just found this http://www.grid.org/projects/cancer/, looks like is the origin of World Community Grid and have a few project running like the ones in WCG and this one fighting cancer, I hope this is the one you're looking for. I have found it here: http://suitcoatdays.weblogs.us/archives/68 looking with Netscape Search (Enhanced by Google).

Re: FightCancer@Home Project?

I understand World Community Grid are currently evaluating a number of cancer related projects. Until then, the Human Proteome Folding project may provide useful data for cancer research, and there's Folding@Home of course.

Re: FightCancer@Home Project?

To see what distributed computing projects are available, go to http://distributedcomputing.info/projects.html and look under life sciences. At a glance, the pancreatic cancer research on http://www.grid.org is the only obvious cancer project. Here is a sample thread, with a report from Oxford on recent developments: http://forum.grid.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=18286

There is a lot about the project on the grid.org site. I suggest you read up on it.

They are out of cancer units, well they were when I left there about a month ago, doesn't mean they weren't sending units out though, they've been reusing old units that have already been completed for months. Complete waste of cpu power really.

from grid.org's website:

12-5-05
"New cancer data: I do not have any new information on this. We are also looking for additional research to be run on Grid.org since Rosetta will be completed soon and the cancer issue is still outstanding."
