Re: How can I remove a device?

What is the protocol for getting various things done related to WCG? Is there an opportunity for volunteer help?

Maybe some of us old hacks can be useful again.

Re: How can I remove a device?

Hello hechlerg,
The World Community Grid is trying to act like a 'project shop'. A research group brings their research program to us and gets their code boarded and run and the results sent back to them. There is some need for volunteers to help the members, which will grow with size and the number of languages supported.

The real internal programming needs are with the underlying systems. Part of this is very site-specific but part is open source. We are starting to use BOINC ( http://boinc.berkeley.edu/ ) which is being rapidly developed under the direction of Dr. David P. Anderson ( http://boinc.berkeley.edu/contact.php ) who used to work at United Devices. A lot of the names in the list of developers who have contributed code will sound familiar if you have followed distributed computer projects recently, such as at http://distributedcomputing.info/index.html
