New Idea: Add a new webpage such as 'Recommend WCG Page' to friends

Hi all, esp. WGI Marketing / webmaster / management / stockholders:
I would like to suggest that WCG website be added with a new webpage to provide members with a 'one-stop' page to recommend WCG to his/her friends and family. This page must have text-box(es) or space(s) for typing in these e-mail address and then WCG website to eventually send straight out. Isn't it an efficiently way of spreading the word? Maybe there is already one but i can't /haven't seen it yet. & hmmm...name this new page as 'rudy's idea.aspx.html.xml whatever... (credits me, lol), right?

If this is implemented

then it will have to allow users to preview and edit the message, otherwise it is just another way to spam people.

(It's not a new idea either, I've seen it mentioned a few times when digging in the older posts.)

It isn't quite as important as the banner issue, but it will certainly help. I hope someone has time to sort it out.

Look at the home page under 'How You Can Help'. Click on 'Tell A Friend' and then suggest any improvements that occur to you.

That is certainly the most minimal solution. "If it works..." and all that. Still, many people prefer the automated kind of system, and some people don't have a convenient mail client. Many students, for example, are stuck with webmail.

Meanwhile, here in the real world, I appreciate there are more important things on the todo list.

good enough...but you can add more contents to the default message - with some convincing get-more-members/helpers/vounteers-kinda words??? (as i don't see much of that sales/marketing pitch from the default message).

Updating Tell a Friend is on our list of things we would like to update. We would like to go away from the mailto: tag and send a nicely formatted email. In the process of sending our first Newsletter, we now have the framework to implement this type of approach-- so we're one step closer.

The issue is we are a small development team and our focus right now is on the FAAH BOINC Client and French Translation.
