Re: Anyone seen an XBOX360 today - the day of the European Launch

The whole of ASDA we supposedly allocated a whooping 1500 units! shock

In an interview a spokeperson said they thought XBOX360s would on the shelves for all of 30 seconds.

The are also those who think that this is a marketing ploy Microsoft, to drive up christmas sales. Release the stock in a slow but steady stream thus driving the market into a buying frenzy, as they attempt to get one just in time for Christmas money eyes . I ask you would anyone do such a thing wink ?

Re: Anyone seen an XBOX360 today - the day of the European Launch

My local Curry's (warehouse style electrical retailer) had 2

Dixons where I had preordered had 8 (I'm somewhere around the 25 mark)

Microsoft claimed they couldn't afford to have a launch day fiasco wink and they had the whole distribution issue sorted out it wasn't going to be like the PS2

Being as cynical as I am I suspect most have made their way onto Ebay.

At least with the Sony PS2 if you preordered you actually received the goods.

I know it's petty in the great scheme of things but Bill you managed to get me narked today

There Marketing stratetgy was to get out before PS3, and hope that enough people would want one that the stop/start launch of the product would get more people wanting one

Bah, Humbug.
I waited 6 months until April 2001 before I bought a PS2 for my cousin's youngest daughter.

And now it's even worse. Here is what I believe: http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=27976

Hey mycrofth

You mean you can play games on them shock

We bought our first XBOX as a DVD player as at the time they were the same price. The fact that you could play games on it was a bonus biggrin

The XBOX360 is a steping stone to getting your PC in the Living Room.

Bill knows what he's up to

(I'm still a Pod Racer Fan from the DirectX 6 days)
