Dear Online Gamer and Gor:
If you send me your device ID number of the machine having a problem and the UTC(GMT) time of the problem, via our support email, if I have some time I can try looking in our server logs for any problems we might see at this end that might be associated with your devices. The usual culprits are: - memory errors - run memtest86 overnight - faulty cpu or fpu occasionally producing bad results - run cpu tester overnight - disk sector errors - try manufacturer's disk test - virus modifying things in your machine - do a thorough virus scan - communication errors - communication test - upload and download large files several times and see if they come back equal to the original |

Hi Gor and Viktors
----------------------------------------Well its crunched another one after the first successful one returned to base, so to speak, and sent that home and updated everything. It's now got a hpf wu to do and is taking its time, lol. My processor is an Intel Pentium 4 D 630 3.0 Ghz 800 fsb Prescot core (sorry Gor) and I would have to re install sisofts sandra to get all my other details as this is my work machine at the moment so is pretty bare. Can't remember what make memory is either, but it isnt Crucial (Ah well thought we might have had it there mate). For you Viktors my antivirus is Alwil's Avast 4 for home. My hard drives were scanned as soon as I first had a problem. I have a 1.5 Gig swap file so it doesnt access the drive very much. Memtest86+ didnt give me any probs over quite a few passes (most of the night). I havent had reason to suspect the cpu as I ran for a while with motherboard monitor going and it didnt get warm (also have 4 six inch fans running permanantly in the case) well within spec should I say warmest was 58 degrees C. I will test the cpu when I get chance and it wont interfere with work. As for large communications I regularly modify and send/receive 10 Meg Microstation Cad files without errors. The times to scheck are the last 2 days and the Device id is STEVE-Y2NMKG6TJ but as mine seems to be working now please if you can spare the time Viktors check Gor's id as his is still giving probs (I know how scarce your time must be). Finally Thanks for all the help and great comms you get on this forum and the project itself and each and every one out there. Keep up the good work and I'll let you know how the next few units go Steve |

Hi!
Looks like I have found the problem. I can't believe that all this fuss was about one buggy BSPlayer... Each time it crashed over some file, WUs started to abort in 50% of cases. I have had 6 successufully completed WUs so far. I will watch the situation for a couple more days and let you know here. |

Hey Gor
----------------------------------------Glad you seem to have got it sorted. For your info I seem to be o.k. for now, lol, just had 2 aborted but at very low percentage i.e. 1.4% and 1.5% and believe it or not got my couple of points for rejected wu's. I didn't do anything to cure mine though, very strange. Just for the idiots and un-initiated amongst us (namely myself) whats a buggy bsplayer (lol, just in case I have one and it could be a problem), I will probably understand what it is when you tell me the non technical term, lol. Anyway, glad you are up and running mate Steve. |

----------------------------------------Cheers Steve |

Yeah, I got that, Steve. ))
BSPlayer is a program that lets you play video and audio files. BTW, my PC has completed another 4 WUs. |
