UD Monitor provides an easy way to download several WUs at once and process them one by one, without communicating with the server in between. (screenshots)
Until now it supported the grid.org and Folding@home clients only, but since the WCG Agent is not very different from the grid.org's one, it was quite easy to add support for it, too. Those who need the caching function (or want to do backups, or just like to watch client's progress), please test this beta-version and let me know if it works fine for you, or there's something that should be fixed/changed. |

Just one small problem: I can't open the Event or the WU Logs on my XP machine (works fine on my W2K machine). Pressing the "Open" buttons does nothing.
Other than that, this tool is a nice little add-on because it provides information in addition to the UD Client. Thanks for posting the info here! |

Hi, I have tried it with the caching function enabled. According to the log, it looks like most, if no all WU abort. Do'nt know if it is related. I closed UD Mon, just to see if the Agent will work better. |

basic functions seem to work fine, havent tested cache nor logging
the basic things i miss in a Monitor how many percent am i done with this wu Lan support (multi client support ) I would like to be able to have one machine on my lan to monitor all the others too so that i can see in one single view wether all clients are crunching, how far they are with their current wu, how long its been working, how many points i got at that moment.. its all info that is in the client but it would be great to have them in one single programm and monitor all of them like you have the tabs now you should have a different machine with his info on each tab that would make it an even more usefull tool for those running more then one client |

Final v4.35 has been released yesterday. UD Monitor is now available in 3 languages - English, Russian and Italian (more to be added in future). Also, it now knows the protein file number of the HPF project, which should help fix some problems with information display and logging. Read more about the changes and download it here: http://udmon.sourceforge.net/

installed UD Monitor (v4.35 08DEC04) today under XP pro with SP2
----------------------------------------on a laptop which is not always connected to internet (sometimes as much as a week) so I setup 5 cache slots but was getting "another instance of the grid agent is already running" msg each time I tried to send/receive so I had to keep exiting the agent to get all the slots loaded but the UD monitor window UD Agent tab still says Running: No - and Elapsed time: N/A and when I click run I get msg above even after exiting the agent (e.g. made sure it was not running I still get msg above when I click run) - can someone tell me if there someway to get the monitor and agent working together properly as I don't know what I'm doing wrong Also it would be nice if there was an easy way to get the monitor to execute automatically when XP reboots like the agent already does - I don't know how to do this - can someone tell me how this sort of extension (download multiple wu) is really necessary for people who are not always connected to the internet to be able to take full advantage of their unused computer time I'm really a novice to computers so - thanks in advance for any help or suggestions - ski1939 (team USMC) ![]() |

I don't know the answers to all your questions...but I can tell you that you go to start>programs.startup and take the WCG agent out. (take it out by right click and delete) this will remove it from the startup ... it does not delete the program. If you prefer not to delete it, just move it out of startup to someplace else... desktop or somewhere else in the programs menu. Do that like I explain below to move the ud mon in there.
----------------------------------------Next you find the executable using windows explorer and rightclick and hold the right button down and drag (holding the right button down) over to start>programs>startup and drop it in there by releasing the right button. Then when you boot the machine, the UDMon will come up and it will automatically look for the oldest WU and start it running. See if that does not solve your problems. Regards |
