I have had this running at work and i just installed it on my home computer XP SP2 and i am getting unable to connect to grid. Registration went fine and it is getting about 2k of data before that message appears. I have 10gig's og data available and the automatic performance setting is fine. Any suggestions?

Yeha i read that too. None of it works. I turned off xp firewall. Do i need to forward ports for my router? I don't know what else it could be but then agani i am able to reach the server to get the 2k file.

I am having the same problem both at work and at home:
At home: I am on Road Runner Cable Modem. Downloads are extrememely slow. Turned off all firewalls (In windows and Linksys Router). Turned on the Remote Access Auto Connection Manager. Can't find anything else to try. Anyone have any suggestions? |

I submitted this as a bug (using the contact form) and they are working on it. They told me Virtual Memory should be on (which is in my case). They will now look into the server logs to see what might have caused the error.

I've increased virtual memory, I have done everything possible and still it refuses to connect to the grid. The one computer even has a firewall up but it can connect to the grid but the one without the firewall can't. I don't know what is going on with this one computer but the whole situation is getting very frustrating. On top of that I now have one computer resetting after a few %. It is almost time to uninstall.
Has anyone come up with a solution to this instalation problem? |

Hi there,
I connected three machines to this project. Those are still successfully connected. However, a fourth machine was not connecting. I re-booted that machine, re-located it and I even uninstalled-re-installed WCG to no avail. Finally, I removed WCG completely from that machine and loaded Grid.org, which is running smoothly on that machine ever since. If you keep having connection problems on your machine, try Grid.org which is also powered by United Devices and see what happens. Cheers, Sapin Vert |

Thanks for the good idea. If that client doen't work then there is obviously somethin going on with my machine. Maybe i will have to do a fresh reinstall. Is there a minimum amount of ram required for this to work. This machine only has 112 but VM is turned up a lot. Hoepfully i'll be adding more RAM soon.
