Since yesterday, I'm not receiving any task/WU.
----------------------------------------In my BOINC I see repeatedly this message: Tasks are committed to other platforms In reality, there are no other tasks running. Other people have a similar issue? Below, a piece of my BOINC log. 10/11/2025 7:37:51 | World Community Grid | No tasks sent 10/11/2025 7:37:51 | World Community Grid | No tasks are available for OpenPandemics - COVID 19 10/11/2025 7:37:51 | World Community Grid | No tasks are available for OpenPandemics - COVID-19 - GPU 10/11/2025 7:37:51 | World Community Grid | No tasks are available for Africa Rainfall Project 10/11/2025 7:37:51 | World Community Grid | Tasks are committed to other platforms ![]() |

Seems to happen most weekends. It should be rectified later on Monday.
----------------------------------------Hopefully the issues with the validator will also be sorted soon too. ![]() |

Since yesterday, I'm not receiving any task/WU. "committed to other platforms" usually shows up when one (or more) of the applications you would accept work for is currently only offering retries. If there are lots of retries for Windows, Linux users (and others) see that message (and vice versa) -- if there are lots of retries for Android or Apple, Windows and Linux users see it!In my BOINC I see repeatedly this message: Tasks are committed to other platforms In reality, there are no other tasks running. By the way, some of the other messages the server sends when not being able to offer work are poorly worded too -- it'll tell you "work is available for..." when what it actually means is "there are also applications for..." Cheers - Al. |

A little thread hijacking but I haven't seen anyone else reporting this weird phenomenon:
----------------------------------------Since yesterday I keep getting resends on one specific computer that is capped at 24 tasks. As soon as a task is finished, a new one gets sent almost immediately. I have 2 other computers which have a hard cap on tasks from other projects and both local and WCG computing preferences would allow WCG tasks to download but neither have received a single one. I tried with a further 2 computers, temporarily allowing WCG tasks but no success there either. Not to mention that the 3 tablets I have running WCG and Einstein (as backup) have also received exclusively Einstein taks since last weekend. When the WCG feeder is up, they usually get tasks as soon as the Einsteins finish one by one. Sometimes they get resends as well, but not this time around. ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Garrulus glandarius at Nov 11, 2025 7:27:45 AM] |

Regarding strange patterns of work collection...
Some of us see similar behaviour when there are only retries floating around, especially if there aren't that many available at any one time. Some folks (jokingly?) refer to it as a lottery, and they aren't actually far from the truth! Retries tend to show up on the server in small numbers at irregular intervals. The server's buffer of available work can easily be stripped in a few seconds if enough users all happen to call in at the same time, and then it might be quite a while before another set turns up. If one of your systems happens to call in at the right time, you might get something, but the tendency of the client to increase the interval between requests when it gets nothing can work against the user if there's no manual intervention... Even when there's a strong supply of new work it's possible to see similar behaviours where one system gets work, a minute so later another doesn't, then a minute or so later a third one does -- as said, a lottery! And for what it's worth, the retries flow is always a trickle by comparison with that of new work. Cheers - Al. |

This could absolutely be the case for me as well. I did try several manual pings on several devices but I guess it's just not enough when there are only resends trickling randomly.

I also tried to reinitialise the WGC project from BOINC different times with no luck.

This evening, my BOINC client downloaded plenty of MCM work units to crunch.
---------------------------------------- A heartfelt thank you to the entire technical team, regardless of whether it consists of one or more people. ![]() Thank you so much. ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by puurome at Nov 12, 2025 9:52:48 PM] |
