Now that work is flowing again I'm resurrecting this item:
----------------------------------------I have two PCs, each with its own profile (HOME, WORK) and neither is getting the value I set online via Device Manager / Profiles. No event log errors; everything else seems to be crunching fine. Both profiles (as well as DEFAULT) are set to 5, both PCs show 10. I've tried other values higher than 10 but the managers are stuck on 10. It's not a big issue since I'm controlling throughput via an app_config.xml. But it's odd this one thing is not updating. Thanks ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by WPrion at Oct 21, 2025 3:16:25 PM] |

It's a known issue, that changes to the Device Profile settings are not propagated to the BOINC client. It will be fixed when the system is fully up and running.

Now that work is flowing again I'm resurrecting this item: There are A LOT of things that aren't working yet. And it will be still a while until full functionality of all parts will be restored. I have two PCs, each with its own profile (HOME, WORK) and neither is getting the value I set online via Device Manager / Profiles. Thanks And it isn't really "work flowing again", what as been send out this morning (my time) are all specially crafted test WUs (they don't seem to like to use the Beta Testing format for that apparently). These are NOT regular WUs yet! Ralf |

Re using the Beta Testing format...
It's not the MCM1 application that's being tested, it's the work-generation, work issuing and work return mechanisms that are being tested, and I'm not sure that trying to apply their new fan-out based technique to the Beta Test environment would work very well (if at all!), especially if it hasn't been implemented for MAM1 Beta! :-) A couple of key quotes from recent Operational Status updates: From October 18, 2025

Another batch has been released tonight, still with numbers in the 9999900+ range, but full size now, i.e. tasks are back to their usual duration in August. It seems we are on a good path this time.
----------------------------------------To be confirmed with validators being back to work too. Pretty soon hopefully. |

A couple of key quotes from recent Operational Status updates: From October 18, 2025

Cheers - Al. My apologies, I'm not too familiar with the WCG community. It seems to operate quite a bit different from other BOINC projects I have been running for a while (ie no server status page that I can find). But anyway my question is this: where do you get these Operational Status updates? I can't find anything on the forums like those updates you listed myself. And the web pages that should seem to be latest updates and news are all woefully out of date... It seems that they are still working on getting systems up and running, and I'd like to get those status updates as they come. My team and user name haven't synced up to my BOINC client yet. I might attribute those issues to BAM though, it seems to be more trouble than it's worth for me on my single computer. But at least I got some of those small MCM stress testing WUs. edit: ah of course, I found the operational status page with recent updates, after I post about not finding it. Mybad. Of course it would make sense if these updates are at least linked from these project pages. Oh well, I'm sure they are busy with all the testing. Go to https://www.cs.toronto.edu/~juris/jlab/wcg.html and click on the "Operational Status" tab in the upper right of the page.
