BOINC Manager not updating project
I have two computers, each assigned its own profile (home, work). I've updated both profiles, as well as the default, to increase the Resource Share value.

I've BOINC-updated both computers numerous times and the Resource Share value is unchanged. Still not getting tasks, assuming any are available.

And I also have that "Another scheduler instance is running..." error message in the event log.

The project is migrating (did migrate?) to a new data center and they are working to bring it fully back online. There is nothing wrong with your systems. We are all waiting for new work to be sent out. There is no Server Status page, but just check here for the most up to date info: Link

You did read that. I am sure that was true for some part of the migration.

This Android smartphone of mine, which I have been using for the past 10 years for WCG, returned its last task on 2025-08-29 and still has one task left in its queue that hasn't been uploaded and reported yet.

I've been trying to 'Update' the project, but I keep getting "Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down" after verifying that the reference site (www.google.com) is contacted successfully (on that same Android smartphone, of course).

I've narrowed the problem down to the following message that I believe says it all:

[http] [ID#1] Info:  SSL certificate problem: self signed certificate in certificate chain
[http] HTTP error: Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with given CA certificates
Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site

What can/could/should I do to upload/report that one last remaining task?

It seems that I can't upgrade the BOINC version (7.4.53) on my smartphone. It is simply too old and can't run any newer versions. My smartphone is a Fairphone 1 (Android 4.4.4 KitKat).

PS I can browse this forum on that smartphone, but I cannot login on the WCG website using the (old) browser on that smartphone. I've tried installing the Opera Mini webbrowser on it, but it doesn't get past the verification step.
Would it be possible to put the microSD card in another smartphone and then run that same version of BOINC? Or could I simply transfer/copy the whole BOINC directory to some Linux device where BOINC hasn't been installed and then install and run BOINC to transfer that last task?

EDIT: made note of OS version: Android 4.4.4 KitKat
EDIT 2: This Fairphone 1 doesn't have a microSD card in it.

The BOINC version in the Google Play Store and many other "stores" are OUTDATED and no longer supported.

From now on, you need to download and install the latest OFFICIAL BOINC ANDROID VERSIONS from the Berkeley BOINC website https://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php

The latest ANDROID version is 8.2.5 and can be directly downloaded from https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_8.2.5.apk

What about my Windows computer? I get the same messages since WCG went down a month ago. My version seems to be 7.2.47

OK. I updated to 7.16.11 and all the jobs and transfers went up top BOINC. YAY.

It also appears that there are no new tasks on any project available so I guess it is still more waiting.

Correct. After all (well, most) pending WUs out in the wild have been uploaded and reported, they seem to have shut off that functionality again and are currently working on what ever else needs to be worked on. Or so everyone is hoping...

Besides waiting? Nope. If your computer/BOINC worked before the migration it should work after, when work is available.
