Did a quick search and couldn't find anything. Does WCG use or take advantage of AVX on the cpu in any way?
Thanks |

I don't believe there are any specific applications built to use that instruction set here.

I don't believe there are any specific applications built to use that instruction set here. +1 There is other BOINC work that is, but I don't think any current WCG work is. They plan on porting MCM1 and MAM1 to GPU at some point (but cpu tasks would still be available). A new, unknown project on WCG could use AVX in the future. Ok thanks. As I look to upgrade, some cpu's had the 512 and nothing I do will use it either. Guess just the more cores and more threads is still the best option.
