OnePlus Pad 3 Android tablet, only 1 work unit despite 8 cores

Why I am only getting work unit on my OnePlus Pad 3 Android tablet, when it has 8 cores, and I have set BOINC to use all 8 cores?

What WU’s have you requested?
and what WU’s are on your tablet?

It has also proved helpful to those offering to help if you can provide a portion of your log file- I believe that about 10 lines would be a good start.

As you may or not be aware, both ARP1 and MCM1 WU’s are very scarce for all volunteers the last few days.
Beta units have only been released for Linux.
Open pandemics has been and continues to be “on hold”.

If work units are scarce at the moment, I will wait till that changes, before troubleshooting further, cause that sounds like the most logical explanation, but thanks for the reply.

At this point, I would assume that this is an issue with the feed of WUs from WCG. There was a stop in supply of WUs from some time yesterday (Saturday, PST) until about noon today, then MCM1 WUs started to be send out again (for all platforms) but now, at 6:40pm, it seems that suppply has dried out again and the first hosts start to run low, if not empty again.
Unfortunately, the system is not always stable on weekends, so there is no telling what's going on, if WCG Towers decides to let us know anything in the first place... sad

For what it may be worth, it is probably not a good idea to try to load up all the cores on a phone or tablet anyway! That said, good luck in your quest for MCM1 work, and if/when you manage to get work it will be interesting to see what your return rate is (validated or otherwise) :-)

Cheers - Al.

Not an issue using all cores, I have the top Android chip, and the tablet is plugged in, with the battery charging limit set to 80%, so no harm to my device nor battery.

Having burned out a few tablets myself, I would limit the temperature to 30 degrees C and leave the tablet on a laptop cooler or other fan just to be sure.
