Hi everyone,
----------------------------------------That's it, I connect an android device directly to WCG project, I get MCM WU's, they are done and sent, I get WCG credit in boinc app, but in my WCG website profile it says the last returned result was in 30 April 2024... Don't know what is wrong. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Ap0phis at Jul 28, 2025 11:25:41 PM] |

NOTE: If you RENAME a device, WCG will take that to mean it is a NEW device not a RENAMED device and previous WU's submitted under the previous name are not included in the current device's history. But ARE maintained under the device's previous name.
Is THIS android device "new" to WCG? Meaning have you processed any other WCG WU's on that android device before the current MCM WU's? If so, how recently and how many WU's has this device processed and submitted? It usually takes about a week or so after your first WU has been validated before that NEW device is automatically displayed on WCG's web site. (There are other options if that does not occur.) Your "last returned result was in 30 April 2024" - what device was used? Your badges show that you have sent in work that has processed was it on the android device you are talking about now? Or was it with other operating systems and hardware? |

NOTE: If you RENAME a device, WCG will take that to mean it is a NEW device not a RENAMED device and previous WU's submitted under the previous name are not included in the current device's history. But ARE maintained under the device's previous name. Sorry, but this is definitively wrong. I did just that the other day.I 'refurbished" an older PC that has been in storage for almost 3 years and was running BOINC/WCG before. And during the "refurbishment" process, it picked up crunching WCG again, and returned quite a few WUs for both MCM1 and ARP1. And pretty much the last thing in refurbishing was that I changed the hostname. And this new host name showed up within very short time, after the next time that host contacted the WG BOINC server... It usually takes about a week or so after your first WU has been validated before that NEW device is automatically displayed on WCG's web site. (There are other options if that does not occur.) That doesn't seem to be quite right either. Beside some MAM1 Beta WUs that are sitting in PVa jail now since May, all other WUs, beside one ARP1 WU which is waiting for a wingman to finally turn in the second WU, are validating in max. 4-5 days, depending on the wingman, if not significantly faster. There could be some backlog though after the latest WCG glitch on the weekend. But if he still has not validated WUs, their credits should not show up in "the BOINC app" (what ever exactly this is referring to) until they are validated. Ralf |

Well then, obviously things have changed for the better as those comments were based on personal experience from a few years ago.
Thank you for bringing these changes to my attention! Happy Crunching! |
