Apple Silicon Mac - Rosetta 2 support ending - future of the project on Apple Silicon Macs?

https://youtu.be/tGOvvbzHUmI?feature=shared

The video linked above actually talks about the end of Rosetta 2 from a Mac gaming perspective, but it got me thinking, what happens to all the projects using Rosetta 2 to run on Apple SIlicon Macs, including WCG?

What would it take for WCG to add native Apple SIlicon support to the project, to ensure that Apple SIlicon Mac users can still contribute and get WU's?

Re: Apple Silicon Mac - Rosetta 2 support ending - future of the project on Apple Silicon Macs?

According to the WCG Operational Status reports of March 13, 2025

Mac builds for MAM1 will be delayed slightly; we are exploring using Github Actions, CircleCI, and old unused Mac PCs from team members that we can install XCode on. The lab does not use Mac and we have limited hardware and experience available.
and 4th April 2025:
MacOS Build Status: Given a stable Linux build, we intend to finalize Intel-MacOS soon; we will work towards aarch64, amd64, arm64 once we have the Intel Macs covered.
There has been nothing further Mac-specific mentioned on that front since then, but priority has been given to trying to get a more stable workflow management system in place, and refactoring MxM applications to use LibTorch will extend development time too! Fair enough as both those exercises will result in better throughput...

Watch the Beta threads; that's where we'll get the best progress indicators!

Cheers - Al.

P.S. I am not a Mac user, but I am interested in ARM versions for my Raspberry Pi...

Thanks for the response.

Also interested in ARM support in general, cause of the efficiency leap over x86 and GPU's, in terms of performance per watt, cause even though it's for a good cause, the power usage for folding worldwide, including supercomputers and AI supercomputers is very high, also affecting energy prices and independency on power and fossil fuel imports from abroad.

Anyway, also looking forward to native Windows 11 ARM support for all projects eventually, for now the Snapdrsgon X plus and Elite chips.
