System requirements feedback

https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/topic.s?shortName=minimumreq

Despite what the page linked above says, Apple Silicon Macs with ARM chips can also run the projects “Africa Rainfall Project” and “Mapping Cancer Markers”.

Yes, the WU’s are running under Rosetta 2, and not native, but still, performance is great, and these ARM chips are the most efficient ever made, so such a huge potential here for accelerating research, without using too much extra power.

Please update this page to include ARM support on Mac for these 2 projects.

Re: System requirements feedback

It might be better for it to read that it will run under emulation using Rosetta 2 on Apple Silicon. Saying ARM support may be a little too far, since that implies native Apple Silicon support.

Re: System requirements feedback

Rosetta is brilliant. Don't think it affects performance much. Performance is really good. Regarding ARM I just got an S25 Ultra with Snapdragon. It does 28000k per day on 6 cores limiting the battery temp at 29 degrees.
