Currently get "Server error: feeder not running" on my main PC. Had this pop up the last three times it pinged the server. Previous to that was 5 hours ago and the feeder was running.

Same here: "Server error: feeder not running" Well, get also the "feeder not running" error in the BOINC client.Unable to download new tasks or upload completed tasks. Cheers It seems though that you can still upload WUs, but not report any, thus no no downloads either. Also, not able to view any result, the Results page just sits there with those nauseating progress bars doing a happy dance. Of course, happened just at the start of the weekend, again... Regarding 2025-04-26 outage: the BOINC database seemed to become inaccessible at around 10:00 UTC and the "feeder not running" then showed up 2 hours later (as seems typical when the database goes away!). All the other observed symptoms should therefore be expected :-(
Now we wait to see if past experience repeats regarding restarts (weekend or otherwise). Typical recovery time 10 to 12 hours, of which the last hour sees the feeder running but no new work available... Cheers - Al. |

Latest update:
April 26, 2025 12:40 ET - WCG database crashed. Dylan is rebooting VM and hopefully we can recover without Sharcnet sys admins. Server is up. Assuming DB crash recovery goes well, we should be back online in 1-2 hours. Hans S. |
