I'm running CPU only tasks (MCM at the moment) and can't get more than 3 even though my CPU has many more threads available.
----------------------------------------I've set my device profiles (both) to a higher number everywhere I can set it, and set my local BOINC client computer preferences higher than 3 as well. I've also added an app_config.xml with the <project_max_concurrent> set the same. What am I missing? Thanks! [Edit 1 times, last edit by WPrion at Oct 26, 2024 12:12:40 PM] |

Please post about the first 50 or so lines of your event log and that will help to see what is happening.
----------------------------------------Cheers

The problem is, that the Device profile settings, doesn't propagate to BOINC clients. That is a problem which seems to occur every time the WCG servers goes down. This time it's been like this, since the outage WCG had, starting on October 8.
----------------------------------------After TigerLily (the communication intern) left the building for good, there is very little communication from the WCG team, and they do not seem to read the forum very much, and do not reply to what is sent through the contact page either, It's been reported to the tech team both on the forum several times, and also on the "contact" page, but nothing is happening. Thanks! I deleted and recreated the device profile - no change.

I assume you mean from the event log after restart. The top 50 lines now have no useful info. I'll try to remember next time I restart. Thanks.

Thanks! I deleted and recreated the device profile - no change. It doesn't help to delete and recreate the device profiles, as long as the device profiles are not propagated to the BOINC client. The tech team has to fix that issue on their side. |

Changing Device Profile settings should work now, which should resolve this issue, too. Please report if the issue persists.

I can confirm that the Device profile settings is now propagated to the BOINC client, as can be seen from this BOINC client message:
29-Oct-2024 18:42:11 [World Community Grid] General prefs: from World Community Grid (last modified 29-Oct-2024 18:40:43) That should solve the issue that WPrion have, |
