On the User Overview page https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/contribution/overview it says that I have only had a current streak of 7 Days but if you look in the History Page https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/contribution/history I have returned work units and credit for over 365 days ?

The data in History represent results validated, rather than returned, on a particular date.
----------------------------------------By contrast, the streak is based on results returned on a particular date. See the post here by knreed which explains the logic behind this. Given that MCM requires at least two results for validation, a person's streak could fall to zero (e.g. when the WCG system is down) despite having results shown as "returned" continually in the History data. At the very best the “Streak” is a measure of WCG’s uptime, it bears no relationship to the volunteer’s processing.

Another WCG variation to the rest of the BOINC community. I can continue to do WCG work when WCG is down as I have work on my machine. With WCG you will be lucky to have a streak longer than a month as WCG is always going down.

Just as an aside, according to my "streak" WCG has almost 6 months of continuous uptime now. Joe, have you ever looked deeper into the streak mechanism? I have the impression that it is not the returned tasks that count, but the tasks that are validated on a certain day. Example: If you still have many tasks pending for a wingman and you do not return any tasks that day and on that day a pending task becomes valid by receiving a valid wingman task, your task is counted for that day. My impression, but not sure. |

It's returned tasks, not validated tasks. I often go back to Zero days of Current streak, because I do not always return tasks every day. During those days when I'm, not returning any tasks, there's always some already reported tasks that are being validated, and that does not change the Current streak from Zero days..
