As was shared on social media, yesterday the website was temporarily unavailable as the load balancer went down. Our contacts at the data centre informed us that there was a hardware failure and they are investigating the extent of the effects. Based on our tech team's assessment of the situation, the only other effect in production is that 1/6 of the workunit management servers was affected, which is not a major issue in terms of throughput.

It was not only the website that went down. BOINC was also affected by the outage, and the BOINC server was unavailable for upload/reporting, and getting new work.
Don't tell me that the team didn't notice that??? |

TigerLily,
Thanks for acknowledgment of this problem! For what it might be worth, I posted a timeline of the effect of the outage on my systems over in the Chat Room a couple of hours before your post here -- don't know whether it might be of any interest... Cheers - Al. |
