2024-06-19 Update (OPNG work unit update)

We anticipate that the remaining cached OPNG work units will be depleted by the end of today. We will begin another run of OPNG once the OPN team uploads more work to the research server. At this time, we do not have any estimate for when more work will be made available, but we will share updates that we receive from the team.

Thanks for your continued support,
WCG Team

Generally speaking, once a project is retired, the techs will notify the community and change the status name from "active" to "completed."

But that was when IBM ran things. Since then, communication has been minimal to non-existant. TigerLily does not seem to have been replaced.

you are so right sad

Nothing worse could have happened to WCG than the transfer from IBM to Krembil. Really too bad

As has been pointed out more than once before, there is a worse alternative; IBM apparently had no intention of continuing to run WCG, so closure was a possibility :-(

As you might gather, I'm one of those folks who reckons a degraded service is better than no service in this context. I don't much like that there's less communication nowadays, but I have to accept that the team at Jurisica Labs doesn't have access to a magic money tree so increased staff levels will tend to be an issue...

Cheers - Al.

you would think medical volunteer donations would be of value to medical companies.
