24 hour club 18 30 TV, watch us evolve.

seriously folks keep talking http://www.twra5t.co.uk

Figured I'd return the favor and drop by, George. The next thing I know I've missed 2 hours of the NFL playoffs (my best reading time); and now dogs are bugging me to feed them (which is exactly 13 minutes after their last meal).

No doubts that this art form takes some serious adjustments, buddy. hypnotized

Just tell me that a rich uncle left you with an abundance of cash. The toys look pricey. peace

Re: Discovery Channel (ID)

This is an interesting juxtaposition, in the USA you have a separation of church and state, and yet the right wing Christian fundamentalists appear, from an external view, to have a significant impact on the functioning of the state. Whereas in the UK the where church and state are absolutely en-meshed with the head of state being the head of the established church, the church has very little direct influence on the functioning of the state.

Of course you guys don't have these problems. You shipped them all over here. wink

(Sorry, the devil made me say it.) biggrin

I thought you all left because you didn't like it here. Then threw all the tea in the harbour because you prefer coffee. biggrin

The French have an even more interesting situation where there are just citizens of the Republic, thus discrimination based on race or religion cannot exist. Hence the political classes could not comprehend the riots late last year, which were fueled by racial discrimination which cannot exist in France.

A very difficult time for you both. Please let us know how things turns out. I really do understand what you are going through.

It was especially difficult for my mother every time she had to be re-examined. Lung cancer metastasizes easily, while the high-dose prednisone made her extremely emotionally reactive. As fate would have it, I later repeated the process twice: first with my aunt (my mother's sister); then once again with my maternal grandmother.

Please, my friend, make certain that you maintain your other relationships during these difficult times. They will help to sustain and protect you. If your wife can witness that inner strength and faith in your eyes, she will certainly draw from it to help her in her battle.

My warm regards and best wishes to you both, marysduby. rose

Great, now I'm confused why you're confused. d oh

Had fun listening to the tunes and checking out the links. (Btw, I liked "acoustic n drums/drums4acoustics.mp3" the best as it's closest to traditional music.) Even checked out the links (the History link was interesting; WinAmp was a kick.)

The line about "taking some adjustments" was just a play on words: Synthesizers require "adjusting"; getting used to "electronic music" also requires some adjustments (or getting used to; at least for me it does).

The rich uncle thing was just a playful way of saying that the equipment you used in the vid looked like it must have set you back some serious cash. The obvious conclusion being: Looks like you are really into this.

Bottom line? Since I spent some time doing gigs in a rock band in the late '60s, it was a kick for me to check out your site. The intention was simply to wish you good fortune with your gig.

If somehow I messed something up, George, let me know. It wouldn't be the first time or the last. I enjoy taking risks and have gotten very familiar with "Face; meet asphalt." scenarios. biggrin peace

Re: Discovery Channel

Dave,

Have you read any of the 'Science of the Discworld' books? They explain the science behind Terry Pratchett's fictional Discworld, but in extreme detail.

There are 3 episodes, the last of which is based mostly on Darwins theories. The odd chapters (I think) are fact, and the even are fictional.

Look out for it next time you're in Waterstones.

Re: Discovery Channel

btw

How do we know it wasn't the nuts and seeds that evolved to fit the beaks of Darwin's Finches

worried
Maybe it was. Flowers and hummingbirds have a similar relationship.

Some trees were dying on Mauritius. As it turned out, the seeds would not grow unless they had passed through a dodo to thin the outer coating. After turkeys were introduced, the seeds can grow again.
