I was wondering if the WGC has thought of approaching AIDS charities to make them aware of our new project. They could publicise the work that we are doing on their web sites. Better still if high profile celebrities who campaign for AIDS charities, someone along the lines of Sir Elton Johns AIDS Foundation (www.ejaf.org) & (www.ejafuk.com) were made aware of the project (emphasising that we are non profit and have backing from IBM, UD etc) an endorsement on their web site or from Elton himself could produce a huge boost in active members enabling the project to move at rapid pace to hopefully work towards a cure for this disease.

Yes we are in the process of contacting every major organization in the world that might have a special interest in solving the HIV/Aids crisis. We're trying to do this before December 1, World Aids Day.
The goal of this outreach is: awareness of FightAIDS@Home, awareness of World Community Grid and all the great members, and, perhaps they know of more research projects. We are also trying to get some of these organizations to agree to be on the partner page. That means they will publish something about World Community Grid on their website and also encourage staff and colleagues to join as members. |

I have initiated an effort to get this "charitable effort" as a community service event within our company. Let's see if they accept it.
Also, I have posted FightAIDS@Home info on all the forums I belong to. SPREAD THE WORD!!! :) |

Sounds exciting, I hope this takes root. I have begun an email chain among my friends, and asked that they do the same. A small step I know, but every bit helps.

We did a national press release here in Canada just 2 days ago. I have been involved with AIDS in an advocacy role for almost 20 years now. There will be a jump in the number of Canadians and variouos organizations joining over the next few weeks. A number of us were rather saddened but not surprised by the skeptical attitutude. This effort was even broadcast on the National TV network CBC. Once we get them to to the the main website here and check out the FAQ's there is suddenly belief. It simply sounds to good to be true to some. We will get them even one at a time. Putting hyperlinks on Websites or webpages is also effective. Well back to one more press release for weekend reading :)

I've started a discussion and team recruitment topic on an anime convention forum I belong to. Now the convention chair has approached me for an information page to place on thier main convention site!
I was wondering if there is a general information/recruitment document already out there somewhere that I might submit to them? Or maybe some tips others might have for making one? Any help will be much appreciated! |

Have a look at this link. It is a good starting point but you will have to update the text with information about the linux client and the Fighting AIDS At Home project. If you wanted to post something here, I am sure that we can all check it and make suggestions. Let us know if there is any other help that we can give. |
