Hello fellow crunchers,
----------------------------------------the World Community Grid notified me recently that a newer version was available for download however when I tried to install the new package I ran into this problem: Now my old version is deinstalled and whenever I try to install a new BOINC client I get the same error. I already tried to remove all traces of BOINC from my computer for a fresh installation and then just choose World Community Grid from the menu but the installer always asks for the World Community Grid.msi which is nowhere to be found. Can anyone give me a hand with this problem? Thanks in advance. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Teglen at Mar 1, 2024 5:11:42 PM] |

Thanks for the reply but I already tried that with the same result. It seems that BOINC somehow knows that I was running the world community grid previously and always wants to add it on installation for some reason (maybe and old registry entry?). I can't even choose to just install BOINC and then select my projects later.

This looks like a very, very old version of Windows. And that downloaded file it is looking for isn't looking quite kosher either (starting with "{EFB...")... Ralf |

BOINC can't find the old install file to update the version. Have a look here: https://boinc.mundayweb.com/wiki/index.php?ti...t_find_the_required_files That was gold. Thanks. The client doesn't seem to download WUs though for some reason. It's connected to my account and some projects are selected on the website... The client doesn't seem to download WUs though for some reason. Teglen, please see post 694637 in the current Project Status thread. (It's a general problem at the moment.) Adri |

Thanks for the heads up. I thought I had configured my client incorrectly.
