Earlier this week, the tech team implemented a fix that allowed users to save changes to their device profile settings, however, several users noted that the changes were not being respected by the BOINC client. As of today, our tech team has confirmed that web preferences are now being reflected through BOINC. We continue to monitor this situation, and please let us know if you continue to experience issues when making changes to your preferences.
Thanks for your patience and understanding. WCG Team |

The issue with Device Profile settings not propagating to the BOINC client is back with a vengeance.
----------------------------------------You can change the settings, but that doesn't help, when it's not getting through to the client. It was fun while it lasted though, even if it worked just for a day or so. ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by Grumpy Swede at Dec 17, 2023 9:32:43 PM] |

Hi TigerLily.
I can confirm that the issue has been resolved.....for now, as can be seen from my BOINC log, after I just only pushed "Save" on one of my profiles, without changing anything. World Community Grid 2023-12-18 22:43:45 General prefs: from World Community Grid (last modified 18-Dec-2023 22:43:15) That's how it has always worked here, for as long as I've been part of WCG. Just pushing "Save" in a profile, even without having changed anything, gives at the next "update" in BOINC, a new "last modified" Date/time. Let's hope that the issues is fixed permanently now. I'm taking a short break from WCG now, so I will not be able to see if the issues comes back soon again. |

Not sure where best to post this to get attention -- sorry about that :-)
----------------------------------------A couple of my systems have ended up using BOINC client 7.24.1 and I now have an issue with any profile other than the Default. It appears to be associated with the profile not reporting a "last modified" time to the client... I started a thread about it in the BOINC Agent support forum, and there's an example in this post Could someone please check my profiles to see if there is a problem... Thanks in advance - Al.
