Recently, my old computer was "fried" in a power surge that it was supposedly protected against. I now have a new one. How do I go about reinstalling my connecting software and picking up my account information from where I left off? I can still access this site using my old user name and password but I flunked Geekhood 101.

I assume that you lost everything on the other computer. Download the software again on your new computer. Start the program and download a workunit. When the registration box comes up, tell it you are already a member. All you have to do is to give it is a NEW device name, and off you go.
----------------------------------------You now have 2 devices, one active and one obsolete, but it's no problem. Just keep device names unique at all times. I have lost some devices on a computer that crashed. I changed the names in the device manager to OLD WHATEVER with a number, and I can reuse the original sentimental device names later, if I want.
