I keep getting the following message since about 6 hours
2005-11-18 18:08:26 [World Community Grid] Message from server: (there was work but it was committed to other platforms) I guess this means that there are no WUs for linux clients available? |

fiveop,
The way that BOINC works is that there is a buffer on the scheduling servers that contains a list of about 200 workunits that are available to be processed. This work is either available for Linux computers or Windows computers. It appears that this buffer was full of work that assigned to Windows computers and there were no workunits available for Linux (in the buffer - the system had some available). I have changed to a different way that the buffer is loaded. This should do a better job of keeping work available for both platforms. Let me know if you (or anyone out there) experiences this again. I will be monitoring the logs also. I haven't seen anyone get that message in an hour so hopefully it is resolved. thanks, Kevin |

Hello Pconfig,
Yes, the Windows version of BOINC for HPF (Rosetta) went active around Tuesday. But with so much else to do, we are not pushing it. |
