As of 02:00 (UTC) on 2023-11-11 I have 515 tasks newly marked as assimilated and files deleted (out of 3821 currently marked as Valid) -- they should disappear within the next 24 to 48 hours. That's progress!
So far, it has managed to assimilate all the stalled results I returned between 14th and 21st October, and most of the results I returned on 22nd. I expect to see progress on more recent results when I check again tomorrow (as well as a decrease in Valid tasks still visible!)... It would be interesting to know what changed in the last couple of days to free the blockage (hint, hint) :-) Cheers - Al. |

Nothing has changed here. Not a single one of my valid MCM1 tasks has been purged.

Nothing has changed here. Not a single one of my valid MCM1 tasks has been purged. I can not tell if anything has changed, but if it has it has not been much. I still have over 8000 valid with the oldest still having been returned Oct. 14. If I have thta many I wonder how many the people with the big rigs have out there. Cheers

I think the purging stopped again. In my case everything up to October 23 was purged, and then it seems to have stopped.

I think the purging stopped again. In my case everything up to October 23 was purged, and then it seems to have stopped. In my case, I can see that assimilation seems to have stopped (again) -- all previous candidates for purging[*1] (i.e. results assimilated and files deleted) have now gone[*2]! If that's true for all users there's nothing ready to purge at present :-(Now, without access to the part of a "server status" page that shows which BOINC processes are running, all people (myself included) can do is speculate on what is happening :-). There are two "obvious" possibilities here:
This leaves the question -- what happened on or around 24th October that might be causing this situation? Cheers - Al. *1 Assimilation, file deletion and purging are three distinct BOINC processes. It isn't until the first two of those have happened that the 1 or 2 day countdown to final removal starts... *2 In my case, there are now no results validated before 24th that are still waiting.
