2023-11-03 Update (Weekend work unit availability)

Ahead of the weekend, here is an update on work unit availability. MCM1 workflow is good. OPNG work units are still being released 4 times per day. As mentioned in our recent update from the SCC team, no SCC work units are available at this time.

Thanks for your continued support!

WCG Team

(Edited to include correction that OPNG work unit flow is currently unaffected.)

Re: 2023-11-03 Update (Weekend work unit availability)

Thanks TigerLily!

How about the non existing purging of MCM1 tasks, that was finished and validated many many days ago?

I still have MCM1 tasks that were validated as far back as October 14, as well as many other MCM1 tasks that were validated from October 15 and forward, still not being purged. In fact no MCM1 tasks att all has been purged since October 13 or so.

We have been raising this issue several times, in more than one thread, but nothing seems to happen.

Re: 2023-11-03 Update (Weekend work unit availability)

Hi Grumpy Swede,

I forwarded this concern to the tech team earlier this week. They are investigating to determine what might be the cause of the change in results retention in case there is an issue that needs to be addressed. However, according to the tech team, it is unlikely that this issue is related to the database storage issues we have been experiencing.

Re: 2023-11-03 Update (Weekend work unit availability)

Hi TigerLily.

Well, whatever it is, it's only MCM1 that is not purged. OPNG tasks are purged normally. I would guess that the main problem with all these validated MCM1 tasks sitting there for so long without being purged, may be that sooner or later they will have eaten up all available storage, and the system will come to a screeching halt.

Anyhow, have a nice weekend TigerLily, (and the rest of the WCG team of course.)

Well that will be great damage as we have only one cancer related project-i.e MCM1- to crunch. No other ones -apart SCC first- i choose to crunch .
