there must be a knack to it because it takes me 15 mins and much cutting and pasting to get that right. Dave normally gets it posted before we see the results here on the other side of the pond Dave -- Thanks for taking care of this for me. All I do is stage it by replying to my last stats post with a quote. I then edit it and ready it for the stats update to complete. Cut/paste from the stats update, add a few periods and voila -- done. Probably takes about 1 minute from the completion of the stats on the web site. Complications set in. Yesterday, after they removed the catheter from my December 2nd surgery, I had a blockage and had to go back to the hospital. Long story short, they couldn't get another catheter in (about 8 attempts were made between the doctors and nurses), so two surgeons from urology inserted a tube through my lower abdomin into my bladder. I am again bagging it, but this time I won't have the pain of the catheter. I am a bit sore from the insertion right now, but I am sure that will ease up in a couple of days (they did give me some pain medication I could probably sell for quite a profit on the street). I go back in 3 weeks for follow up to this to see if I can be put back on my natural plumbing again. I have to say that the procedure today was as painful as anything I have ever experienced before. I was so glad when it was over with. But, while all of this has been pretty painful, I still have the happy news that there was no cancer found to keep my spirits up. Enough rambling -- time to get some sleep. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Dec 15, 2005 4:04:40 AM] |

Ouchies.
While I've never had to endure a catheter insertion, I did have a pilonidal cyst removed in December of 2004; a procedure in which the ratio of surgery time to recovery time is horribly skewed. Surgery was totally outpatient, in and out in under six hours if I remember right. The only problem with which is that of which the operation does to you... A little background info: A pilonidal cyst generally occurs after the infection of the pilonidal canal, which runs somewhere starting in the crease of your bum bum and then upwards. Can be caused by quite a few things. My particular cyst broke the surface of the skin and started draining right below my waist line. These also happen to be pretty painful, as I could not really sit down for about three days before I got the antibiotics. So I got the antibiotics and that cleared it up pretty much, the cyst was still there, but it wasn't draining, painful, or overly swollen any longer. Surgery finally rolled around and what the doc had chosen was to completely remove the cyst and then some to make sure he had gotten everything. So small cut and then sew it right up, right? Wrong. The incision he chose ended being about 2 inches wide, 8 inches long and 2 inches deep, which then had to heal naturally, for sewing me up would only cause the cyst to reform. So every day twice a day, for well over two months, gauze had to be removed from the now gaping wound on my lower back and repacked with dry clean gauze. Ri-dic-u-lous. And yes, I had the Percoset, but I'm a big guy and the dose didn't effectively treat my pain as to someone with a more normal body build. Nothing like feeling someone pushing your insides around. Anywho, best wished to you Dave on getting better soon. New team thread angle: We have more points today then we did yesterday! -Madness |

Madness --
OUCHIES -- boy you got that right! I just woke up a 3 AM and had to take a couple percocet. It feels like I have a knife stuck in my stomach right now. I am pretty large as well and don't expect them to help all that much. I would have had a lot of trouble dealing with the recovery you went through, but I guess we all play the cards we have been dealt. I sure hope your doctor's procedure will prevent a cyst from ever reforming there. Sounds a bit like he amputated your back! |

Hello All,
----------------------------------------Inspired by Prolunga, I had another attempt at getting the stats signature box working (failed the first 7 or 8 times ) I follow all of Grahams instructions but when I preview all I get is a small square box where it should be.. Arghhh!!!Any ideas? Thanks, Johnny, |

Johnny --
I am not sure what it should be, but I checked the tinyurl you are using (http://tinyurl.com/b87x) and it points to some American Library Association web page. If you kept notes, check the URL you are using. If not, you will probably have to regenerate it. |
