Hi Speedy51, We are currently preparing a newsletter with an update from the ARP team on storage. This will be sent out by the end of the month, likely sooner. TigerLily, Do you have any idea when the update for ARP is going to be posted? If it has been posted I have not seen it ![]() |

Speedy51,
Try here . It's a PDF file. Newsletters can be found via the News section of the site menu (left of screen), and I got an email notification about it as well. I can't remember if it also showed up in the Notices in BOINC Manager :-) Cheers - Al. |

Hi alanb1951 and Speedy 51,
Thank you Al for sharing the newsletter here! Speedy51, this is the newsletter that I was referring to. As Al mentioned, it is sent via email to those who have subscribed, and is also posted on our website under News > Newsletters. |

What remains for the short term is finishing the last simulations for For me it sounds like a fairy tale, at least on a BOINC platform, cause new workunits depends on the return of previous ones.which we are very grateful to our volunteers. The expectation is still that all simulations will be ready by the end of this year. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Crystal Pellet at Nov 1, 2023 12:14:42 PM] |

----------------------------------------There is no way that crunching of ARP units can be finished by the end of the year. Each patch has to be crunched 183 times and there are 3 ultra laggards in iterations 021 & 022, so those have go out, be crunched twice and returned 162 times. Even with a very optimistic 24 hour average turnaround, that would take 5.5 months - say end of April next year. Based on past experience of having to redo them frequently on shorter timesteps, I would estimate the best part of a year will be needed to finish crunching from whenever the restart is. Hi Mike.Gibson,
If I am not mistaken, I believe when the ARP team said "The expectation is still that all simulations will be ready by the end of this year" in the newsletter, they meant that new work units will be ready to be released by the end of the year. The project has been on pause as they move 300 TB of data to Amazon Web Services, but they expect that this migration will be complete soon. We are receiving an update from the ARP team tomorrow, so I can certainly follow up with them regarding this timeline. |
