We continue our work on characterizing lung cancer biomarkers identified in the MCM1 project. This update focuses on GSDMB, a gene associated with lung cancer survival and differentially expressed across multiple cancer types compared to normal tissues.

Dear WCGAdmin, do you perhaps mean 'years' as in 'CPU years' in your article?
Found here: Since November 2013, World Community Grid volunteers have donated over 820,800 CPU to the project Thank you for the article. Adri PS As it happens, a friend of ours has an aggressive form of small cell lung carcinoma, reacting good to the treatment (radiation therapy and chemotherapy). |

The article has been edited accordingly. And I'm glad to hear that your friend is responding well to treatment! |

These updates are retroactive, about stuff we've learned over the years.
But when work comes in, there's no telling what it's about. Specifics have been very hard to come by compared to other projects. From your update, I couldn't tell if the GSDMB work was done years ago with the initial lung cancer calculations, or last month. Are we working on lung cancer data again? Can we get updates about upcoming batches? What experiments are we working on now & what's confirmed in the pipeline? Here's an example of the level of detail Folding@Home is providing its volunteers. WCG could have this too. https://stats.foldingathome.org/project/12222 |
