Good day, fellow volunteers,
While observing the flow of tasks on my devices I could work out a pattern describing the current progress of SCC1. The workunits are distributed from a range of batches and each batch contains 100,000 workunits, numbered from 0000 to 99999. The distribution of each batch is chronologically fairly consistent, starting at 0000 and ending at 99999. The batches are numbered with 7 digits, of which the first three digits are a zero at the moment. The latest release of batches started on 21-04-2023 with batch 4081 (prefixed with 3 zeroes), soon followed by batches 4069 and 4071 on 22-04-2023. How could I represent the progress of SCC1?, I was thinking. Maybe I could divide a batch into 10 parts of 10% per batch, and as soon as a task is validated you can look at the Sent time(*1) (serverwise in UTC), so that you will have the exact day of the distribution of the first task (in a 10% part). Also, you will never know when a 10% part is complete, but you can be sure that a 10% part has started when a task is part of it. Since you will never be sure when the 100% has been reached, when all tasks have been sent, you can only tell if a 10% part has started; and with sufficient supply you can also tell when it has started. And my thoughts continued. So, you can indicate the first 10% part by ">0%", the second 10% part by ">10%", the third 10% part by ">20%", etc., and to indicate the date I would only need 6 digits: the last two digits of the year, two digits for the numerical month (01 = January) and two digits for the day of the month. So, in order to be able to easily sort by date, 21-04-2023 would be represented as "230421". The current batches can then be shown as follows: SCC1 >0% >10% >20% >30% >40% >50% >60% >70% >80% >90% I have placed a complete table for the current progress of SCC1 on this page that is updated each hour (if there is a change). With this information you can track the progress of SCC1 and easily see 'where we are'. [*1] Sent by the server to your client. Adri |

An interesting way to look at the progress. When I get a chance I will look a bit closer at the chart. Thanks for putting it up.

Well, with all of these batches having hit >90% in the last month-ish (and not a few of them in the past week), it explains why the SCC1 WUs seem to be perpetually in short supply.

Thank you Adri. I love the data analysis of the data we are analyzing. I love a progress bar for the projects.

Thanks for the chart. Looks like we are tapering off on SCC WUs.

Thanks for the chart. Looks like we are tapering off on SCC WUs. I currently have over 140 tasks waiting to be processed in my queue. I agree that yesterday work distribution was low ![]() |

Looks like they added new batches to be crunched. Received a large number of WU's during the night. Within units received were the following batch numbers: 4088, 4118, 4124.

I have my preferences set to prefer SCC since I'm chasing that badge and my Linux systems far prefer them, and I've received only three MCM WUs (out of about 6500 total) in the last 18 hours. No complaints here ![]() ![]() |

Thanks for the chart. Looks like we are tapering off on SCC WUs. Over night, on this end it rather looks like MCM1 is tapering off and all new WUs so far have been SCC1.That would finally reflect the currently selected preferences for my hosts, at least knowing that there aren't any ARP1, OPNc and HST WUs to begin with. Let's see how long this lasts... Ralf |

FINALLY seems to be getting a sensible valid/invalid ratio on my Mac...
Just as well, 'cos it's the only project putting putting out work units that will actually ...er...work, |
