[Solved] Open Pandemics WU takes extreme amount of processing time and seems to restart after being finsihed

Hello,

Last days I've been running several OPN WU's and I noticed identical behavior on several WU's as described below:

WU: OPNG_0002239_00148_1 (0.52 CPU + 1 Intel GPU)
I'm also running running Einstein (1 CPU + 1 NVIDIA PU)

Issue: estimated CPU-time to process WU is indicated to be 00:19:37, but in reality it is above 4 hours. Let me put the data on the last 2 minutes of processing time:

Progress Elapsed Remaining
97,532 -- 01:12:40 -- 00:01:50
97,830 -- 01:15:12 -- 00:01:40
98,089 -- 01:17:41 -- 00:01:30
98,359 -- 01:20:41 -- 00:01:20
98,506 -- 01:22:31 -- 00:01:15
98,618 -- 01:23:01 -- 00:01:10
98,871 -- 01:28:02 -- 00:01:00
99,102 -- 01:32:32 -- 00:00:50
99,304 -- 01:37:32 -- 00:00:40
99,525 -- 01:45:01 -- 00:00:30
99,699 -- 01:54:02 -- 00:00:20
99,863 -- 02:09:32 -- 00:00:10
99,999 -- 04:02:08 -- 00:00:00

While the remaining processing time decreases from 00:01;:50 to 00:00:00 you can see the elapsed time explodes from 01:12:40 to 04:02:08. Even the 01:12:40 is already ~4 times higher than indicated.

In total I could have processed 12 times more in the mentioned period 4 hours comapred to the indicated 19 minutes. I shortly disabled Einstein, but it had no influence on the eleapsed time.

Although above mentioned WU was finished and uploaded (I could find it on the portal) the WU started again.

1. Can somebody explain why the elasped time on my laptop deviates so much from the indicated elapsed time?
2. In case my laptop isn't suited anymore to process this kind of WU's how can I avoid to get this kind of WUs?

Thanks in advance.

Try a reboot. If it doesn't solve it, cancel the task.
If it happens again with OPN, you may deselect that project from your profiles.

Also make sure both sets of graphics drivers are up to date, just to rule that out.

Hello Falconet and Dayle Diamond,

Thanks for your replies. I killed the running and pending tasks and downloaded some other ones. Everything is running smoothly again smile
