I have 86 work units that are not uploading. Most of the work units have a deadline date of 6 March. All of them were completed before 6 March. All the work units are for WCG projects such as Open Pandemics or Mapping Cancer Markers. This means they have been sitting in my hard drive for 12 days.
Any Suggestions??? |

They have said they will adjust the deadlines so when they do upload them, they will be good. Cheers

I have 86 work units that are not uploading. Most of the work units have a deadline date of 6 March. In addition to what Sgt.Joe wrote, the deadlines that you mentioned, 086Frank, are according to what you see in BOINC Manager. However, if you take a look on the website and see your results that are In Progress, you will notice that the deadlines have been modified. As an example, here are four of my tasks that are due on 21 March (that's two days ago now ):Result name Status Sent time Due / Return time CPUtime/Elapsed Claimed/Granted Adri |

In addition to what Sgt.Joe wrote, the deadlines that you mentioned, 086Frank, are according to what you see in BOINC Manager.Ralf The deadlines used by the server-side software include a "grace period" (which is typically set at one day, but when the IBM->Krembil migration began they set it to zero days as part of getting retries out quicker to get all pending work-units finished before transfer. I presume that this mechanism will be how they extend the deadline... And, indeed, I have just checked the Time due field for "In Progress" tasks on the Results pages, where the value is [currently] exactly 26 days after the Sent time (a 20-day grace period!) Note that the client is totally unaware of this grace period so it will still display the deadlines it was given -- those only matter if a task hadn't started by the notified deadline (at which point the client is supposed to abort the task as "Not Started by Deadline"...) Apologies if I'm asking a Q that's a repeat - but I have a raft of completed WU's that are Uploading (they aren't, of course!) but a further tranche that were Uploading, but have quietly disappeared from my Transfer tab and now show as Ready to Report - are these now a lost cause, or will they transfer in due course too? They are all approaching a month overdue, of course....... Many thanks for any insight into how this might work?!

Really annoying that the project is unable to handle the uploads for OPNG work units and just go into never-ending backoffs.

Getting repeated backoffs and upload delays within backoffs. Also get 100% uploads that actually do not upload; have to keep hitting retry button to finally get them to go (at dial-up speeds, no less, and it's not my connection). I mean, less than 10Kb/sec in some cases.
----------------------------------------It is disappointing but not unexpected. But, once more unto the breach...I've got jobs running as I type this.

I got the same (backoffs, 100% but not completed). It seems short lasting on my end as I tell it to try again and they upload pretty quickly.
