confused Won't connect to server. Zonealarm problem?

When I click on the icon for this program, the small blueish screen opens and tells me that it is receiving 2488 bytes of 2488 bytes from the server. Then, it is "unable to connect to the grid server" and "backing off." Next, I get this note....

"The grid agent has encountered a problem while attempting to connect to the grid server. This may occur if the gridserver cannot find any suitable workunits for your agent, because the grid server is offline for maintenance, or because your computer is not online. If you are not online, please initiate a network connection at your convenience. The Agent will automatically communicate when the problem is solved."

Total mystery here. It's done this each time now for three days. It has always been online (cable). It has never connected. Total CPU time is zero. However, other members of my team (Texas A&M) are showing usage. I'm a little suspicious that my computer is not working as it should. I do run ZoneAlarm, but I gave this particular program full permission to go online. I am running Windows Me (yes, I know. Trust me, I know. Very, very well. Ugh.) on a Pavillion with 64 RAM and 677 mhz. This is not a blazing computer, but it's at 75% on the comparison at the ranking system on the site.

Based on this info...is there something wrong on this end? Is this an Me problem (yet another one), is it a Zonealarm problem, or is it really something on the server end due to the massive influx of people when this hit CNN??? Hoping it's a quick and easy fix!
Thanks

According to the system requirements you need at least 128 MB of RAM to run the program. sad

With Win 2k or XP, 128 MB is indeed the lowest minimum. But - for what reason - I have 512 MB, does the grid client use 300 MB in the swap file?
The client downloaded something of about 5 MB after starting.

And another question: What's going on with the produced results? Will they be available for everyone?

Re: Won't connect to server. Zonealarm problem?

Hi -- I had a similar problem and a johntsai indicated the following in the "Help Me" thread of the forum:

"I had similar problem at first. I ended up modifing the Device Profile and decrease the storage space. After that, it runs ok. You might want to try it too."

After I reduced the storage in the Device Profile, the problem was resolved.
