The problem with linux names is a well known one in the boinc comunity. It is caused by the way boinc reads your hosts file. There are a couple off things you can do to correct this. 1: edit your hosts file and add your machine name. ex 127.00.0.01 localhost 192.168.0.1 machinename Because boinc only writes the machine name into client_state.xml once on install you will have to manually edit it even after doing the hosts edit. 2: Shut down the boinc client Edit client_state.xml. The machine name is near the top of the file. Restart boinc and do a project update. |
